Straight Cooking Method 通用煎藥法
- Wash clean the herbs if necessary. Add the amount of water set out in the prescription note to submerge herbs in ceramic or stainless steel cooking pot. Bring to a boil with high fire, and keep boiling for about 15 minutes.
- Change to lower fire, simmer until reduced to one bowl (or the prescribed amount). Usually take 45-60 minutes. Drain and filter decoction into a bowl, or container. Drink the decoction as directed in the prescription note.
- Dispose the cooked herbs as kitchen waste.
- Prescribed herbs should be used according to the schedule set out in the prescription. Beyond the schedule, the same herbs should not be used without consulting a Chinese Medicine practitioner.
- Herbs should be kept in a dry and cool environment. Keep out of reach of children. Keep it save from potential damage by insects and animals, etc.
- 若需要, 先將草藥洗淨. 放草藥於瓦煲或不锈鋼煲內, 按說明上的用量加水浸過草藥. 以大火燒開, 滾約十五分鐘.
- 轉小火慢煮, 煎取一碗 (或處方藥量). 將藥汁倒出濾入碗中或容噐中, 按說明方法飲用.
- 藥渣作垃圾處理.
- 處方草藥應遵處方說明如期使用, 超出期限後, 不管草藥品質是否有變, 亦須咨詢中醫師以確定該草藥是否仍適合使用.
- 草藥應存放於乾燥陰涼環境中, 在兒童不能拿取到的地方. 同時要注意隔離蛇蟲鼠蟻等的危害.
