Wash clean the herbs if necessary. Add the amount of water set out in the prescription note to submerge herbs in ceramic or stainless steel cooking pot. Bring to a boil with high fire, and keep boiling for about 15 minutes.
Change to lower fire, Simmer until reduced to one bowl (250-300ml), drain the decoction into a container and have it covered.
Add some water, bring to a boil then simmer for about 5- 20 minutes to reduce to 150-200ml, drain the decoction into the first batch of decoction and mix well.
Drink the decoction as directed in the prescription note.
Dispose the cooked herbs as kitchen waste.
Prescribed herbs should be used according to the schedule set out in the prescription. Beyond the schedule, the same herbs should not be used without consulting a Chinese Medicine practitioner.
Herbs should be kept in a dry and cool environment. Keep out of reach of children. Keep it save from potential damage by insects and animals, etc.
